Rice & McKinnon Chop the Top — Six Down, Fourteen to Go!

Week 6 of the Elite Tampa Bay Poker League is in the books, and it did not disappoint. With subs Asif Mohammed filling in for Saif and Rob Fregosi stepping in for Ryan, the night got underway with plenty of early fireworks — including Chrissy Holubeck cracking Tammy Leonard’s aces to double up right out of the gate. Craig Rice hit a clutch set to stay alive all-in against Juan, Andra Zachow went on a cockroach run for the ages (super short, doubled through Evan, then doubled again through Billy McPhillips for less than two big blinds, because of course she did), and the short stacks just kept refusing to die. When the smoke finally cleared, Craig Rice and James McKinnon chopped the top spot, with Andra Zachow finishing a scrappy 3rd, Ondrei Ronhaar in 4th — continuing his weekly chronicle of the road to the 2026 WSOP Main Event — and Billy McPhillips rounding out the money in 5th. The prize pool was $3,360, with four players getting paid.

In a big hand early Chrissy Holubeck cracked Tammy Leonard’s AA giving Chrissy a double stack and a great head start for the evening.

Tens full for Dan Cuesta knocked out Saif’s sub Asif Mohammed!

Some of the area’s finest are playing in the league this season!

With our changes this season we’re expecting players to play the full season and not give up if they feel they can’t win. One WSOP Main Event seat will be held for a season ending tournament of all qualified players who do not win a seat through the regular season. Players do benefit from a high finish on the leaderboard as starting stack of this tournament will be 1000 x their points in chips. A very creative solution to players dropping by member Juan Rodriguez. This change alone will most likely create that extra seat or more.

We will be at 4 seats by week 7 based on our current league fund of more than $37K!

Craig Rice hit his set to stay alive vs Juan aipf!

A much needed double for Chrissy through James! Chrissy Holubeck was hoping to further distance herself from the rest of the pack on the season leaderboard. She currently is on top with her teammate Marv Karlins!

And Evan doubled through James!

Andra was all in for less than 2bb & doubled + through BillyMcPhillips!

Kevin James 7th, Evan Vancavage 6th – Craig Rice with AA

This week Craig Rice and James McKinnon chopped 1st!

After six weeks, the Marv Karlins/Chrissy Holubeck team sits on top of the season leaderboard with 37 points, followed by Saif Keshwani at 31, Evan Pantano at 30, and a four-way logjam just behind them. It’s tight, it’s competitive, and with 14 weeks still to play, nobody is out of this thing — not even close. The league fund has already blown past $37K, which means we’ll be at four WSOP Main Event seats by Week 7. Four seats, people. Let that sink in.
Speaking of the Main Event — the full 2026 WSOP schedule dropped on Monday, February 16th, and it’s time to start making plans. Hotels book up fast, flights aren’t getting cheaper, and if you’re going to Vegas you need to get on it NOW. Check it out and start plotting your summer because the dream is very much alive around here. See you at the tables next week! 🃏
