2024 WSOP and the aftermath… and Fall League!!!
So Aaron Thivyanathan was our hero this year at WSOP – the last man (or woman) standing – or actually the only League member cashing the WSOP Main for the League this summer. We’ll get ’em next time. It was disappointing with so many members playing for the league but all bad beats. All luck. Nothing to do with skill. It will be different next summer. As Karl would say #MaxPain
Members did have an amazing time out in Vegas – it’s always more fun when your friends are there too.
Speaking of League, we will be starting our Fall season soon- Thursday August 1st 6:30 PM at Derby Lane with a similar intro night where people can try out the league (still paying the weekly fee) for two weeks before committing to join and paying the League fee. We want to do the grand opening of the season like last year (Steve Trizis had that great idea last year) with some food/snacks at the break. We had more than 50 people start the league last season and with more people comes more Main Event seats! Or possibly WPT Wynn $10K seats! We’re tentatively going with 19 weeks including the Monday of Thanksgiving week to finish by WPT time.

Btw we are very proud of the Spring season grand champion Ray Mancini who came in 2nd in the $800 WSOP Bracelet event for $246,931. Wow, just WOW!!!
Some of the best known players from the Tampa Bay Area honed their skills in the league. Some of the players may be familiar to you!
