Week 14: No Excuses: Mike Robinson Flies in From Japan, Runs 24 Hours Straight, Still Splits the Win with Ryan Harfouch
Week 14 is officially in the books, and wow — did the room show up for it! Between two solid subs stepping in and 8 rebuys keeping the action going all night, we hit 39 entries, one of our biggest fields all season. Here’s how it went down:
We had two subs this week – Chrissy Holubeck for Dugg Hadden and Matthew Castellucci for Kevin James. We are definitely going to be close to 9 seats – the rebuys/attendance will determine that. With the attendance requirements of 15 of 18 weeks and 4 of the last 5 weeks we should consistently be building the prize pool each week to get the maximum number of $10K WSOP or WPT seats!
The members are battling at this point and after this week there are only 4 weeks left of the League season (no League Thanksgiving week)! Once the season ends we’ll have our second chance tournament to find out who else will be representing the league with a $10K seat! The starting stack in that last chance tournament will be determined by end of season points so it is still important to be there, even if you don’t think you will get there during the regular season. If you have met the attendance requirements those weeks still can get you more chip in the last chance tournament.

3 way all in on the flop: Ray 93hh, Andra 89dd, Maribeth A3cc. Ray hit the full house, Andra the nut flush for the side pot.

What a final table to cap off one of our biggest nights of the season! Massive congrats to Ryan Harfouch and Mike Robinson on the chop — and seriously, Mike, flying in from Japan, pulling an all-nighter, and still showing up to run deep and split the win? No excuses indeed!
The standings took a real shake-up this week too. Josh Nicholson/Jay Capitano Team grabbed the #1 spot nudging Andra Zachow to #2 after her long run on top, and Ryan Harfouch’s chop-fueled 13-point night pushed him past Larry Legend into #3. Mike Robinson’s win didn’t just make for a great story — it rocketed him up 8 spots in the standings, the single biggest jump of anyone this week. Jason Palacios/Cy Frederick Team and Clive Gavin weren’t far behind, climbing 4 and 5 spots respectively.
With only 4 weeks left in the regular season (remember, no League on Thanksgiving!), every single point is going to matter. Keep reading below for where everyone stands on the seat race heading into the stretch run.
Where Things Stand: The Regular Season Seat Race
As of Week 14, the Championship Fund sits at $75,250 — enough to fully fund 7 seats right now, and at the pace we’re collecting (especially with weeks like this one with 8 rebuys!), we could be looking at 9 seats by the time the season wraps. Quick reminder on ties: when two players finish level in points, total wins is the first tiebreaker, so those deep runs matter even beyond the points they score you.
Holding a seat right now: Josh Nicholson/Jay Capitano Team (71), Andra Zachow (70), Ryan Harfouch (64), and Larry Legend (61) are in command — big cushions, multiple wins apiece, nothing short of a collapse moves them out. Evan Pantano (51) and Ray Mancini (50) are in strong shape too, comfortably clear of the bubble. And right at the cutoff, Aaron Thivyanathan/Maribeth Hilliard Team and Bobby Cornette/Jim Collins Team are dead even at 47 for the 7th and final seat — even tied on wins (1 apiece) — so that one might not be settled until a deeper tiebreaker kicks in.
Right on their heels: Jason Barnett (46, just 1 back), Lee Tran/Don Brown Team and Mitch Smith (44, 3 back — Mitch’s 2 wins would give him the tiebreaker edge), and Jason Palacios/Cy Frederick Team and Robert Thomas (43, 4 back — Jason’s this week’s hottest mover after jumping 4 spots on a 6-point night). One good week moves any of these five into the mix.
Firmly alive: Juan Rodriguez (42, 5 back), Robert Kalteux (41, 6 back), and Craig Rice (38, 9 back). A single win or chop is worth up to 14 points — that closes most of this gap in one night.
Need a big week or two: James McKinnon (36), Ryan Johnson (35), Dugg Hadden (33), Rob Fulton (32), Tammy Leonard (31), Mike Robinson (30), and Ondrei Ronhaar/Michael Laake Team (30). Real ground to make up, but with 4 weeks left and a couple of deep runs, it’s still a path — Mike Robinson just showed everyone exactly what one big night can do for the standings!
Long shot, not impossible: Keith Loftus (29), Jack Feeney (27), Kevin James (25), Vlad Stinga (22 — zero attendance margin left, must play all 4 remaining weeks), Gregory Crisafulli (21), Stuart Phillips (18), Clive Gavin (17), Mark Winchell (17), and Timothy Chakos (17). It would take back-to-back big finishes, but nobody’s counted out yet.
And a reminder for everyone further back: even if a regular-season seat is out of reach, every eligible week (15 of 18, plus 4 of the last 5) still builds your starting stack for the season-end Last Chance tournament — so there’s real value in showing up no matter where you sit right now.
Elite Tampa Bay Poker League
Standings
The line marks today’s cutoff — 7 seats currently funded at $10K each from the $75,250 collected so far. That number isn’t fixed: more seats open up as more funds come in before the season ends, so this line can move down before Week 18. A tie at the line is broken by the league’s tiebreaker rules — the seat isn’t split. Δ shows movement since last week.
Note: those 7 seats already include the seat awarded to the winner of the season-end Last Chance tournament — it’s not an extra seat on top of these 7.
