Week 20 – The Final Hand

The felt has been cleared, the chips have been counted, and the dreams of poker glory are now crystallized into reality. After twenty grueling weeks of competition, the Elite Tampa Bay Poker League has officially closed the book on another incredible Winter/Spring 2025 season, and what a finish it was.

As the final cards hit the table in Week 20, six more warriors earned their golden tickets to poker’s ultimate battleground – the 2025 World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event. These weren’t just victories; they were the culmination of months of strategic play, psychological warfare, and the kind of clutch performances that separate pretenders from champions.

Champions Rise: Your 2025 WSOP Main Event Qualifiers

Let’s celebrate the elite six who punched their tickets to poker immortality:

1st Place: Juan Rodriguez & Aaron Thivyanathan – 108 Points
In a dominant display of partnership poker, this dynamic duo not only secured the coveted Main Event seat but also claimed the league’s championship trophy. Their 108-point performance across 17 weeks of play showcased consistency, skill, and the kind of strategic partnership that makes legends.

2nd Place: Mohamed Lahlou – 107 Points
Just one point behind the champions, Mohamed’s 107-point season across 18 weeks was nothing short of spectacular. His razor-thin margin from first place tells the story of a season where every decision mattered.

Tied for 3rd: Jack Bittker & Karl Manouchakian – 100 Points Each
Both warriors reached the century mark in points, with Jack playing 18 weeks and Karl grinding through all 20 weeks of competition. Their identical 100-point totals prove that multiple paths lead to WSOP glory.

5th Place: Ray Mancini – 98 Points
Ray’s 98 points across a perfect 20-week attendance record exemplify the grind-it-out mentality that defines championship poker. His consistency earned him a seat at poker’s biggest table.

6th Place: Team Steve Trizis & Allen Wiseman – 96 Points
Rounding out our Main Event qualifiers, this partnership’s 96-point performance secured the final golden ticket in dramatic fashion.

The Supporting Cast: Minor Event Heroes

The drama didn’t end with the Main Event seats. Two additional warriors earned their way to Las Vegas with $1,500 Minor Event seats:

Ryan Johnson

7th Place: Ryan Johnson – 92 Points

A focused young man with curly hair sits at a poker table, surrounded by colorful poker chips, a drink, and a phone, displaying a confident expression.
Evan Vancavage

8th Place: Evan Vancavage – 86 Points

Both players showed the kind of skill and determination that makes deep WSOP runs possible, and their minor event seats give them excellent opportunities to make noise in Las Vegas.

Tonight’s Final Chapter: The Losers’ Lounge Showdown

But wait – the story isn’t over yet! Tonight, May 22nd, the remaining qualified players who haven’t won prizes yet will battle it out in a special freeze-out tournament (no rebuys allowed) for the remaining league funds. With $800 in league money plus $180 from tonight’s $200 entry fees on the line, additional Minor Event seats await the survivors of tonight’s final battle.

This freeze-out format promises pure, unadulterated poker – no safety nets, no second chances, just skill, heart, and the will to win when it matters most.

A Tale of Two Seasons, Thirteen Dreams

The math is as beautiful as it is daunting: thirteen players from the Elite Tampa Bay Poker League will take their seats at the WSOP this summer. Our six champions from this Winter/Spring season join seven battle-tested veterans from our December 2024 season finale. That’s thirteen local heroes carrying the hopes and dreams of our entire poker community onto poker’s biggest stage.

But here’s where it gets interesting – and where the bonds of our league truly shine. Every qualifying member from each respective season will share in 10% of the gross winnings their fellow warriors generate this summer. It’s not just about individual glory; it’s about collective success. When one of our thirteen takes down a massive pot or makes a deep run, every league member who earned their spot shares in that triumph.

The Pressure Cooker That Was This Season

Looking back at the 20-week grind, the final standings tell stories of incredible consistency and clutch performances. Juan Rodriguez and Aaron Thivyanathan’s championship run wasn’t just about their 108 points – it was about showing up week after week and performing when the lights were brightest. Mohamed Lahlou’s heartbreaking second-place finish by a single point will fuel motivation for years to come.

The tie for third between Jack Bittker and Karl Manouchakian at exactly 100 points shows just how competitive this league has become. Every rebuy, every key decision, every river card mattered in determining who would represent Tampa Bay in Las Vegas.

More Than Just Cards and Chips

What makes the Elite Tampa Bay Poker League special isn’t just the world-class competition or the life-changing opportunities we provide. It’s the community we’ve built around Juan, Aaron, Mohamed, Jack, Karl, Ray, Steve, Allen, Ryan, and Evan – our WSOP representatives who’ll carry more than just their own dreams to the desert.

The 10% profit-sharing structure ensures that success is truly shared. Whether one of our players captures a bracelet, makes the final table, or simply cashes deep enough to make headlines, every qualifying league member becomes part of that story.

Looking Ahead to Vegas

As we wrap up this remarkable season, our attention now turns to the desert. Ten players (counting our partnership teams) have earned their seats through skill, determination, and the kind of consistent performance that defines champions. They’ve proven themselves in the heat of weekly competition, and now they get to test their mettle against the world’s best.

The 2025 WSOP promises to be historic, and the Elite Tampa Bay Poker League will be represented in force. Our players have shown they can handle the pressure, make the tough decisions, and grind through the variance that makes poker both beautiful and brutal.

Special Recognition: Our Championship Team

Let’s take a moment to celebrate Juan Rodriguez and Aaron Thivyanathan – not just our points leaders, but our trophy winners and the embodiment of what makes this league special. Their partnership approach to the game, combined with their dominant 108-point performance, sets the standard for excellence in our league.

When they take their seats at the WSOP Main Event, they’ll carry with them not just the hopes of Tampa Bay, but the trophy that represents a season of poker excellence.

The Bond That Binds

Season over, seats awarded, dreams realized – but the story is just beginning. Tonight’s freeze-out will add the final chapter to this incredible season, and then our WSOP representatives will carry the collective hopes of one of Florida’s premier poker communities to Las Vegas.

Every hand they play, every decision they make, and every chip they win or lose will be felt by their fellow league members back home. The cards will fall where they may this summer, but one thing is certain: the Elite Tampa Bay Poker League has once again proven that when talent meets opportunity and community supports ambition, extraordinary things happen.
