Week 9 served up one of the most entertaining final tables we’ve had all season! Dugg Hadden came out swinging and knocked out three different players before his own night ended, and the final two spots came down to a heads-up chop that split the title right down the middle.
We also had two subs covering a lot of ground this week. Shoutout to Josh Harrison, who played in place of the entire Jason Palacios/Cy Frederick Team, and Ananth Ganesan (“Ani”), who stepped in for Rob Fulton. Here’s how the final table shook out!
Mike Robinson 9th vs Dugg Hadden
Dugg Hadden QK>Mark Winchell TT
Mark Winchell 8th
A double for Mitch!
Ryan H KK> Q8 Vlad S
Vlad 7th
Dugg Hadden was an absolute menace at this final table before his own night ended! his QK sent Mark Winchell out in 8th, his pocket 3s got there over Josh Nicholson’s AQ to send him home in 6th, and Mike Robinson didn’t survive him either, going out in 9th. But Ryan Harfouch’s KK made quick work of Vlad Stinga’s Q8 in 7th, and then Ryan’s TT got some revenge on Dugg Hadden, sending him out in 4th. Ned Wright, playing for Tammy Leonard tonight, had a final table for the ages: his 44 ran down Bobby Thomas’s KQ for 5th, and then his KJ got up over Ryan Harfouch’s AK to send him out in 3rd! That set up a heads-up chop between Ned (for Tammy Leonard) and Mitch Smith, who split it right down the middle.
That chop keeps things tight at the top, but Jay Capitano and Josh Nicholson’s team holds the season lead at 50 points, with Andra Zachow right behind at 46. Nine weeks still remain in the regular season, and remember — every player who plays or subs in at least 15 of our 18 weeks (including at least 4 of the final 5) still has a shot at a seat in our season-ending Last Chance tournament, with starting chips based on your season points. Keep grinding, see you all at the tables for Week 10!
